What is Island Party?

Since the foundation of BYX at Texas A&M in 1994, Beta Upsilon Chi Fraternity has hosted Island Party as our own way of giving back to the community. Although Island Party has grown and adapted over the years, its purpose remains the same: evangelism, philanthropy, fun, life-giving, and the bolstering of our own brotherhood and unity. Recently, Island Party has taken on the form of a music festival—an all-day, totally free concert with performances by talented musicians, a comfortable environment, games, food, opportunities for connections to be made, and great friends to share all of it with.

This year we would like to invite you to Island Party 2014: a true musical festival spanning over two days. Join us Friday, March 28th for a ramped-up, high-energy night of hip-hop and rap. Come back on Saturday, March 29th, for a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere to boot.

About Beta Upsilon Chi (BYX)

Beta Upsilon Chi started at the University of Texas in Austin during the spring semester of 1985. A group of college men set out to establish an alternative to the present fraternal lifestyle. It was the vision of the founding fathers to have a fraternity of committed Christian men, based on the unique brotherhood that a Christian atmosphere affords, for the purpose of fellowship and glorification of Jesus Christ. The Brothers press on toward the mark of the high Calling.

“Behold, how good and pleasing it is for brothers dwell together in unity!” – Psalm 133:1

About The Bridge Ministries

BYX Island Party’s 2014 philanthropy is The Bridge Ministries located in Bryan, Texas. The Bridge Ministries is a non-profit organization that is focused on putting faith into action. What began as just a small bible study has grown into a large ministry focused on sharing the love of Christ with others by serving the Brazos Valley area. The Bridge Ministries is comprised of many different programs that are focused on serving the people of the community. Their food pantry, medical clinic, ESL classes, and more are all ways of sharing the love of Jesus with others through service. Another goal of The Bridge Ministries is to unite churches of all denominations under the common bond of Jesus Christ. The Bridge Ministries is a place where Christians of all denominations can come and serve together as a united body of Christ. All proceeds from Island Party 2014 will go to The Bridge Ministries to support them as they obey the great commission of Jesus Christ.
